The 2015 Nuits Saint Georges Village comes half and half from Premeaux and the Vosne-Romanée side of the appellation. The 30% new oak comes across more conspicuously on the nose, perhaps not tempered by the whole bunch that was not used in this blend. But there is very good depth of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, slightly sinewy tannin. There is very good depth of fruit here, a mixture of red and black, though I would like just a little more mineralité and tension to come through on the finish. Given the substance in display here, I wouldn't hesitate giving this 2-3 years in bottle.
This is markedly more complex with its layered range of floral, earth, sauvage, red and dark currant-suffused aromas. The medium weight flavors possess excellent volume and a sleek muscularity before concluding in a rich, serious and palate coating finish. This is a fine Nuits villages built for mid-term cellaring and worth your interest.
