The 2019 Beaulieu Napa Valley Cabernet opens with a rich bouquet of dark red berry fruit, subtle oak, and a whiff of the famed "Rutherford Dust." On the palate, the sheer class of the wine is plainly evident. Subtle notes of cola nut, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, and new earth support complex black raspberry/cherry fruit. Smooth tannins provide a seamless balance and structure. This wine is drinking beautifully now (pull cork 30 minutes in advance), with an aging potential of 5-7 years.
– Ben Giliberti, CW Director of Wine Education
Fresh, direct and focused, with red currant and cherry coulis notes that race through, dotted with savory, floral and tobacco accents. Judicious toast lets the fruit play out, and there's solid energy throughout. Drink now through 2030.
