Bedrock Wine Co. Description
The 2021 Evangelho Carignan comes from a block of 130-year-old vines located at the crest of a small hill in the middle of the vineyard. Here, the breeze from the delta, the banks of which are a mere mile away, blows unabated into the block, preserving freshness and making it one of the latest blocks to ripen on the ranch. This, combined with the interplanted Mataro, makes it one of the most aromatically exotic lots of Carignan that comes into the winery. Fermented with 40% untrod, whole-cluster grapes, this wine shows off the beautiful Evangelho curry spice, pomegranate, and cranberry red fruits in spades. This has a lot of “zing” so will appeal most to those who love brightness in their wines.
