Vinous: 94 Points
The 2021 Clos l’Église is an attractive, refined Pomerol. Crushed flowers, spice, red/purplish berry fruit, orange peel, new leather and mocha are all finely delineated. This mid-weight, gracious Pomerol has plenty to offer, but it needs time to recover from its recent bottling.
Jeb Dunnuck: 92 Points
I loved the 2021 Clos L'Eglise, a deep purple-hued, medium-bodied, balanced, nicely concentrated Pomerol that has ample red plum and black cherry-driven fruits, some tobacco, earth, and leafy herb nuances, fine tannins, a supple, layered mouthfeel, and outstanding length. This classic, balanced, beautiful 2021 will drink nicely for 10-15 years.
Wine Advocate: 91-93 Points
The fleshiest, most dramatic wine in the Garçin-Léveque portfolio is the 2021 Clos l'Eglise, a medium to full-bodied, broad and velvety Pomerol that evokes notions of sweet cherries, berries, plums, raw cocoa and petals. Layered and seamless, it's derived from a 5.98-hectare vineyard opposite Eglise-Clinet that's planted with 80% Merlot, the balance Cabernet Franc.
