This carries to a medium to full-bodied Fronsac with a balanced, layered mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's a stunning Fronsac to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years.

Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Clos du Roy leaps from the glass with vibrant notes of black cherries, baked plums and mossy tree bark, with wafts of wild mushrooms and chargrill. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers a rock-solid structure of grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the generous black fruit, finishing earthy.

The 2020 Clos du Roy has a well-defined bouquet with blackberry, briary and light sousbois aromas, classic in style and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins. Touches of graphite infuse the black fruit with a nicely proportioned and quite persistent finish. Excellent.
