Picked at 190° Oechsle, the 2018 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese is concentrated in its aromas of apricot jam but is not yet brilliant on the nose that still shows acetaldehyde notes. Highly concentrated on the palate and with surprisingly concise acidity, this is a fine and elegant but enormously sweet TBA that needs another age to be served. It is a beautiful wine in a very rare style: undrinkable but on the very highest level. 323 grams per liter of residual sugar meet 11.1 grams per liter of total acidity. 6% alcohol. 375-milliliter bottles. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
