Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, açaí berries, violets, dried herbs and brown spices, the 2022 Beaujolais l’Ancien is a bold, succulent wine from old vines in Charnay. Medium to full-bodied, it has a lush concentration of fruits that dominate the front palate. It develops more texture on the mid-palate, driven by granular tannins that gradually acquire resistance to eventually outweigh the fruit, culminating in a mordant finish.
