It is the beginning of a collection of Riesling Grands Crus Trimbach, alongside the estate's jewels, Frédéric Emile and Clos Ste Hune. The Grand Cru Schlossberg is a granite terroir. Granite from Thannenkirch and migmatite granite (granite and gneiss) from Kaysersberg. Planted in 2 or 3-row south facing horizontal terraces and located next to the castle, this vineyard is ideal for Riesling. This Riesling with a beautiful vertical structure is dry, delicate, chiseled and can be aged for at least 10 years or more.
A mineral-driven white, with lots of petrol, smoke and fleur de sel on the nose and palate. Sleek and linear in style, with vivid acidity driving the tightly meshed flavors of crunchy white peach, Marcona almond and pink grapefruit sorbet, ending with a creamy finish.
Luminous straw-green. Perfumed aromas of lemon verbena, apple and minerals. Then dense and juicy, featuring apple, lime and flinty flavors. Lively acidity lifts the spicy fruit flavors even on the long back end (usually a granite soil delivers acid sensations on the entry and middle but tapers before the finish). Made from very low yields (20 hL/ha). The best Schlossberg made yet by Trimbach.
