Ruby red, very dark, with intense notes of red berries, blackberry and red cherry together with fine spicy notes. Elegant with smooth tannins, full-bodied and a long finish.

The 2020 Cannonau Riserva entices, mixing dark earth tones and leather with depths of crushed black cherries and autumnal spice. It’s deeply textural, quite silky in feel, with polished red and blue fruits that take on a mineral tinge toward the close. The 2020 finishes with admirable length and potency, leaving a staining of licorice and blackberry preserves, all framed by a coating of fine tannins. There’s so much going on here already that it’s hard to recommend waiting; yet another year in the cellar certainly won’t hurt.
